Katie Fitzgerald, ARNP
Nurse Practitioner at South Miami Women’s Health
Katie earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Barry University in 1998. As a registered nurse, she has had experience in a medical/surgical/peritoneal dialysis/telemetry unit at Baptist Hospital. Following her passion for women’s health, Katie, shortly after, obtained her Master of Nursing with a specialty in Family Nurse Practitioner from Barry University in 2000.
As a Nurse Practitioner she has seven years of experience in Gynecologic Oncology at Sylvester Cancer Center and has worked in the area of Obstetrics and Gynecology for the last eight years. Katie is an active member of the Oncology Nursing Society and of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is board certified from the American Nurses Credentialing Center as a Family Nurse Practitioner. Katie has also served as clinical preceptor for future Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner Students from Barry University.
Her primary vision is to change the way in which women’s healthcare is delivered. Her approach is to diagnose, treat and prevent illness, but also to help women making choices to prevent disease and enrich their lives. When Katie is not taking care of patients, she enjoys spending time with her family and many outdoor activities.
